Not so lovely days...these past days

Last week I wrote about having such a good day, with lots of relaxing and reading and a bit of sleeping. All because my oldest daugther got ill and stayed home for a few days. Well, after she got a little better my youngest got a fever with lots of coughing and sneezing, so the weekend was spent between kids sleeping, watching more movies and reading more books. Until Monday, then the bugs finally managed to knock me over. High fever, big headache, the lot. So I had to stay in bed for three days and I am still not better, but I forced myself to get up this morning. I am typing this with a box of tissues next to me and my body telling me to keep it short and get back in bed a.s.a.p.

So plenty of time to read you might say. Yes, plenty...I finished three books so far, because one can not sleep 24 hours a day. Still having a euphoric feeling about reading longer than the usual 20 minutes? Well not really! With a head and lungs full of snot it is not the most pleasant experience I must say. Oh well, we will fight those little ill-making monsters one day and one of the first things we are going to do is go outside, into the land of the living. Now it's time to see how my husband is doing. He told me earlier that he fainted while taking a shower, so I am off to making another fruitsalad!

For those of you who want to know: I finished this book (I'd give it three stars) and this book (I'd give it 4 stars), now I am reading this one!

Lovely day!

This morning my daughter M. was feeling pretty ill and had a fever, so we decided that school was something to be skipped for at least a day. My youngest went to daycare and I could take a day off from work...and what a day! My sweetheart first wanted to watch movies so I read a good Scandinavian thriller that I love so much. Then I took a nap while M. watched her third or so movie. When I woke up she was sleeping and I read some more....how good it feels to be able to read more than one hour in one stretch!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

For those of you who can read Dutch, there is this lovely website by someone who has at least three sites: one on Scandinavian literature, one on Philosophy of language and one on Psychological/Psychiatrical Healthcare. This makes me instantly curious about the person who is behind this.

So what a lovely day I am given today! And it is going to be even better, because tonight I will top it off with a girls night out with a very dear friend. Now back to the book: wanna know who did the killing! Yes!

Look what we got....# 2

Last Monday my daughter started school again after a two week Christmas break. It felt like she had been gone from school for over a month! Apparently we did many things these past two weeks. Like buying a brand new car for lots of great vacations. I also wrote an article for the STIN magazine (Spring edition) about my sudden cardiac arrest. I worked a lot, prepared for my mom's 70'th birthday, supported a colleage whose grandmother is passing and going to the funeral of the mother of a very dear friend this Friday. Somehow, good things, sad things and fun things decided to come all at the same time at the beginning of the year. One of the fun things I wanted to share is this big thing we bought over the weekend. So look what we got this time around; a folder-tent-thing and it's huge!
