Favorite Friday Song - Stevie Wonder - Happy Birthday - LIVE London Part 20

This week, actually this Friday, it was exactly one year ago that I got a heartattack. So I was thinking about the song that I had to choose. Something sad? Sober? Teary? NO! This day (and my birthday on the 17th of August) actually reminded me of LIFE and LIVING! So it felt better to celebrate! So I turned 37 this year and then a week later I turned 1 as well. You know what I mean? Of course these giant feasts required some serious celebrating with tons of cool stars. And since I was born in the 70's, I didn't invite Justin Bieber of Rianna, no I invited Stevie Wonder instead! Let's party on! Up to many and I mean MANY years coming! Are you in with me?

Jeff Martin Performing Requiem / Hurt @ The Historic Red Dog on Aug 16, ...

I guess these posts are all a bit the same. Maybe I should take more time to express my feelings about all the music that I post. Jeff Martin (ex singer from The Tea Party) is also one of my favorites. His voice.....love it! His songs: love it. His appearance: pretty yummy. His humor during shows, the way he mixes different songs, from a lot of my favorite groups.....Too bad, he only performs in Australia these past years...hope he comes back soon. And hope to find better video's on You Tube.

Favorite Friday Song - All Night Thing

This new item that I am doing on this blog really fueled my love for music again. All week I am thinking about what I want to share. It really draws me back into on of my biggest loves in life: music. This past year I barely listened to music, that is if you don't count the children cd's we have at our house.

This song I wanted to share with you comes from my all time favorite album: Temple of the Dog. Together with Ten from Pearl Jam it was my bible back in the days of being 17 and searching for an identity, not knowing who I was, where to belong to, what paths to take in life. I guess that the albums that you listen to when you are that sensitive make a huge impression that stays for life.

I love all the songs from the album, but I chose this one because it is one of my all time favorite love songs. I can totally picture the situation. Plus the fact that a pretty handsome singer (Chris Cornell does have a great chest, yummy!) is singing this song with a great voice. Oh well, even after 20 years (!!!) it still touches me and it still gives me a warm feeling.

Favorite Friday Song - Crazy Mary - Pearl Jam

There is just something about this song....loved it from the first moment I heard it. It also reminds me of the conversation I had with friend S. years and years back about which songs we would want at our funeral.....'let's say if....'.

This past year I thought quiet a bit about my own funeral that (thank God!) didn't happen. What songs? So many to choose from. This could absolutely still be one of them. I just hope that this song will be with me for many years to come. It is strong enough to be a great song even in let's say 30 years time. And...as long as Eddie Vedder is the vocalist...probably everything is worth listening to.
